Battlefield Bad Company 2 part 3

Here we are it big one (well for these two games). Both of these games are big on there multiplayer but which ones better? well there's only one way to find out...with a complaisant (not a fight).

First of lets start of with Battlefield. Battlefield has been one of my favorite series of game I've loved all of them (well most of them) they've left a big impression on me, the was you haft to use team work to rank up and win it used communication, not a Rambo style of playing. This is still true here, sadly as this game was made for the xbox and ps3 mainly some consolations have come up.

For one the maps have shrunk to almost half there size (Battlefield 2 I'm comparing it to), also there's not 64 size servers anymore which is a big hit seeing how Battlefield made it's name on big 64 player matches. also there ain't as Meany classes in the game, they've all been compacted into four, "Medic","Recon","Assault" and "Engineer". All these classes have been balanced and have a ton of unlocks.

There are two new main game modes "Rush" where one team defends two bombs and the other tries to plant 2 bombs, when both bombs are destroyed you haft to move up and plant more bombs. This mode is fun and is very addicting. The other mode is "squad deathmatch" which is mixed you have a full conquest map to get the most kills, most of the time you can't find anyone the other time your trying to shoot someone from the other side of the map looking for people.

Modern Warfare now. As you've most likely played this, I'll just give you my opinion. The gameplay is unbalanced, one person who has been playing it of every day will always beat the normal gamer and presaging is more useless than drowning (which is better and will put you out of your misery).

So as you can see i like battlefield better, but there both as bad as each other. Battlefield has the better multiplayer and Modern Warfare has the better singleplayer (can't believe i just said that). So if you like your funny stories and good multiplayer pick battlefield if not pick MW 2.

Battlefield bad company 2 part 2

OK this part is very late, mainly because i had to play MW2 again. So what did i think of BFBC2's gameplay and how does it fair with MW2's gameplay? Well that's why I'm here.

Well here it goes BFBC2's gameplay on the single player is pretty bad why? well i was playing it on the PC  and it didn't feel right it felt restricted and unnatural, that's mainly because of a strange aim assist which hinders the gameplay not help it. Meanwhile in MW2 the gameplay is almost perfect the way the guns work and the level design compliments it. Sadly that isn't always try one of the best experiences in that game was the level "Takedown", it's level design was very well made how there's both multiple path's and how you will always be in the same area without knowing. Sadly this only happens in that level the rest is just forgettable.

Sadly BFBC2 has pretty generic nothing seems to stand out and nothing we haven't seen before. The AI is nothing special, your team mates are invincible and do more than fire randomly, and your enemies just eat bullets and there's no challenge. The only challenge is trying to find some cover that won't be gone in five seconds flat.

Unfortunately i have no choose than to give the point to MW2 witch makes it one all, but we have one more subject multiplayer. So I'll see you then and i hope this one won't be late.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 review part 1

So here's the set up. Two star cross game companies. One of which i have mixed feelings about, the other i hate. There fighting against one thing "who can make the best shooter?" (well now they do but in a couple of months time it'll all change). The grunts are MW 2 and BFBC2 and I'm just court in the middle of it and i haft to decide. well...looks like it's time for a comparison.

Story: In MW 2, War is stuck after you go threw a terrorist attack in a Russian airport, you are somehow meant to take him down by joining in (down tell me how that works). You get shot and being an American spy America is therefore to blame (even throw 100 meters back there's a death Russian terrorist). Then world war 3 happens (even throw there's no Europe except for Russia and Afghanistan). Is it me or is this just a cold war lovers dream to have a all out war with invasion and battles on the streets of DC. The sum up the plot, well there's more holes in it than well everything it's confusing and doesn't make sense.

BFBC2 is a loose spoof of the hole war matter. It acts totally serious but you can tell that the actors are here for a laughter. This is also a parent with battlefield's new grenade spam ad (which can be found at the bottom of this review). The actual story, well here it goes. Your looking for a top secret weapon that has bee n hidden for 70 years and has never been rediscovered till now. The plot is pretty stupid but as i think about it, that's kind of the intention.

So far a point goes to BFBC2 for it's funny plot stay tuned for the next part in a few days.

Rise of Prussia

Well here we are a RTS set in one of the most over use places ever Prussia or now Afghanistan. As we know RTS's have become more and more complex ever since Total War came along. In some ways this is a bad thing. I loved when you could just load up a map and play a simple skirmish, but sadly that doesn't happen anymore.

Story: Well this is intresting, The story tells the ups of Prussia and all it's major battles (if you know them). However it's only a setting there's no voice acting only texts which can only give an expericance to some small level. So the story is not that good.

Gameplay: Ok this is where it gets generic. Lets put it like this, copy and paste every line of code in from Total War change how it looks and the interface and you have Rise of Prussia. The new interface is more confusing to me than any other RTS. The reason why is because the buttons are tiny on my 18 inch screen and the text that explane it, is small and gave me a headace reading it. Apart from that it's pritty basic, take over the map anyway you want to.

The map is huge and the levels takes hours to compleat this is all good but sadly the game gets repetative and way to well familiar, i've played it before and played better. All in all the game is way to familiar, everything else well it can be fixed but then are you willing to pay £24  for a game that you have already played. Buy it if you haven't played Total War if you have consider it.

My Thoughts: World of Warcraft The Movie!?

Movies based on games hardly ever work, this should be an obvious fact to everyone. The same could be said for games based on movies, but anyway. The movies hardly ever keep to the plot of the game, insisting on making it artsy or changing things that just end up making it suck. I mean, what do we go to see these movies for? Loyalty to the brand name and to see out favourite video game characters on the big screen and so we can poke our friends knowingly when they reference the game in some way. The other problem is that people tend to make movies based on games with almost no plot like Hitman. But to delve into the infinate suckage, we need to look into our friend Uwe Boll. SIT BACK DOWN!

Let's look at some of the movies he's made shall we?

House of the Dead
Far Cry
Bloodrayne
Bloodrayne 2 (and an upcoming 3rd one)
Alone in the Dark
Alone in the Dark II (yes there's a fucking sequel)

Any of those any good? Erm...NO! And you want to know why? Alot of reasons, but my point is that they don't stick to the source material in any regard. Take House of the Dead, first of all it was an arcade game so why make a movie about it? What would be the point? There's only so many things you can do with an arcade game before it stops being the game and turns into it's own movie with the same name. So what did he do? Gave it a plot, a shitty one. And in movies like Bloodrayne and Alone in the Dark he disregarded the plot of the games entirely! And I'm STILL pissed that Nightwish leant their music to his shit, maybe they thought it would give it an iota of awesome? But really, there are plenty of video game movies which suck the big one hard simply because they take nothing and give it something shitty or takes something amazing and disregard it entirely. If you make a movie out of something that already exists you must stick to the souce material like glue, take these movies for example:

Hitman
Silent Hill
Resident Evil (all 4 of them)
Super Mario Brothers
Double Dragon
Tomb Raider
Doom
Dead or Alive
Tekken

Were any of those decent? Well, Tomb Raider stuck to the material I guess but face it the only reason anyone watches them is to stare at tits. The same could be said for movies based on books but I won't get started on them. But by now you're probably wondering what the hell does this have to do with WoW? Well all of this was just to establish that I don't like Game Movies.

Now, don't get me wrong WoW is ok, not my type of game but it's ok. But come on man, what's the plot? Almost all of it revolves around Arthas and his attempts to firmly cement the fact that he is EEEEVILLLL. What movie could you POSSIBLLY make out of that? Well, I suppose a good fantasy film but apparently it will be live action, doesn't that conjur up some funny images to you? Hundreds of extras wielding massive sword that look more dorky than the foam buster swords people make who stand around for about half a minuit waiting for thier attack to charge. Mage extras stood on hill tops throwing out buff spells for no apparent reason other than to look good, paladins healing half way through fights. Rediculously busty women playing Night Elves in skimpy clothing....actualy, keep that in there. My point though is in games those epic weapons and hot characters are awesome but if you try to re create them in real life it all ends up looking stupid, royally so. Now, I may be wrong, the movie may kick ass but think about it, can they really afford for it to go wrong? WoW has one of the biggest fan bases in gameing kind and if they fuck up in any regard they will have millions of angry fan boys smashing down their doors casting protect and fireball at them. But now I' on the subject, I heard they're making a Bioshock movie too and an Assassins Creed movie, those could be ok except for one thing: THE MAIN CHARACTER IN BIOSHOCK DOESN'T TALK. You'd have a silent lead, how nice. As for Assassins Creed...meh that could be awesome if they stick to the material. But bottom line is, if you want a WoW movie watch Tales of the Past or MMovie when they finnaly release part 2.

Wittyreviews: Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu 2009/The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 2009

Oh go f**k yourself

I feel your pain Mikuru,I really do.

Imagine, if you will, that you had waited about 3 - 4 years for the seccond season of one of your favourite animes to come out. You finnaly hear that it will be out in about a month or two. You'd be excited right? Finnaly more of the good stuff. The episodes start up nice and what do you get? The exact same thing over and over and over and over again. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Endless Eight! The greatest trolling event since My Immortal!

Before I get into anything let me just say I am assuming you have seen the first season at least because I'm going to talk like you know what's going on. Remember Tom Bombadil from Lord of the Rings? The guy that nobody likes? The chapter that everyone skips? That's the Endless Eight arc in the nutshell, anyone who has read anything to do with Haruhi usualy skips this chapter entirely, so why did KyoAni decide to make about 60% of the series about it? Because it prints money bitch! Aaaaawww snap!

But seriously, it eats. The basic gist of it is that the summer holidays have come around and Haruhi, in all her infinate God wisdom, has come up with a nice long list of activities for the S.O.S Brigade to do during their final week, homework unfinished Kyon is roped into it also. Now, the first thing I feel the need to draw attention to is the pool scene, I won't deny I drooled over the swim suit Haruhi the first time I saw it, the FIRST time, you'll know what I mean in a moment. Over the course of the week the brigade spend all of their time doing Haruhi's activities regardless of whether they want to or not, by the end of it she is still not satisfied and the episode ends. Boring, pointless and stupid even by this shows standards. So, yeah next week rolls along and the next episode comes out. You sit down to watch it and...it's exactly the same episode. Was I the only one who thought the subbers got it wrong? As it turns out NO! The group are suddenly supprised when Mikuru finds out a serious problem, she is suddenly unable to return the future. Almost as though it's not there anymore. Through the due course of plot and time they find out Yuki knew that all along, why? Because this isn't the first time this has happened. As it turns out, the last week of the summer break is stuck in an endless loop doomed to repeat over and over again and Yuki remembers it all. If they don't find out why Haruhi is causing this in time, things will reset and they will forget again. They do this for a number of episodes even I don't have the stomach to count untill they find out what the problem is, Haruhi was...bored. Basically the get together to do their homework and things continue on fine. FUCK.ME.

I gotta explain something now, if you struggled on like I did through Endless Eight you probably only did it for one reason, loyalty to the brand name. It was Haruhi! It had to get better right? And...well, it did. The final arc of the series is actualy pretty awesome. The making of the Adventures of Mikuru Asahina, that wierd episode from season 1 that made no sense, you know the one. It's actualy pretty funny and worth struggling through Endless Eight to see, in my opinion anyway.

Final thoughts on this series, it was bad. Very VERY bad. All that time for this? What a rip off! Did KyoAni even try!? And now they ehave the balls to try and make up for it by releaseing a movie? Hell no! I'm going to watch it expecting a let down, if it turns out to be good I will very supprised. And you know what else? My sources (who wish to remain anon) tell me that even the cast of the show were sick of Endless Eight by the end of it. They weren't even looking at their lines by the time they got to the final episode because they'd been saying them over and over again for so long. The final arc is just barely, barely enough to keep it floating.

Final Score: 2/5

You know what? I'm not really satisfied with this review, so allow me to address some common Haruhi viewer comments. Some people some to believe this anime is a harem anime, erm why? What you mean the Mikuru meido and bunny girl thing? Well yeah I guess but compare it to Girls Bravo, no where near as bad. So yeah, ECCHI COMEDY > HAREM big difference people. But personaly, I like Ecchi Comedys, I find that kind of thing funny.
The characters are one dimensional, no really? I would never have guessed. If you want involving characters go watch an anime that takes it self seriously. Ok that was harsh, my real point is that they aren't meant to be!
if you or anyone else have these issues just stop and think would ya? If this show isn't your cup of tea than take it in good stride, in fact why are you even reading this if you DON'T like the series?

P.S The only reason I explained Endless Eight was to save you the torment of watching all of it.

Wittyreviews: Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu/The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya season 1

Oh damn a quote uh...."Mikuru Beam"?

I don't want to be here.

True,I am about as pure as a Haruhiist puritan can get but that just makes my job harder.True,we cannot deny our love for the first series but we also cannot deny that the seccond one blew the horn of battle for Haruhiist crusaders everywhere. And with the movie fast approaching (in fact it's already out in Japanese cinemas by all acounts) it is my sacred duty to bring you my review of Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu AKA The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

In truth, the show is one you either love with all of your might or hate with the fury of a thousand suns.I'm the first of the two but I know enough people who support the latter to understand both arguements.Oddly enough despite the title the story is not told by the perspective of Haruhi Suzumiya,in fact it is told by one of her many man servants friends Kyon...just Kyon we never find out his name. This is actualy kind of a nice perspective to be told the story from as Kyon is just so ordinary, dull life, dull things happen to him and no body in his life actualy give 2 damns about him, untill he meets Haruhi of course. In most other anime the story would be told by Haruhi's perspective and in this case I think that would actualy drag it down,it's nice to be told a story from an ordinary bloke with no special features or note worthy atributes,he is in the words of The Doctor "Not special, not powerfull, not connected, not clever and not important".But now I'm getting off topic, the story centers around the aformentioned Kyon after he meets a very strange girl during his first day at his new school called Haruhi Suzumiya when she makes an iconic announcement to her class "I am not interested in ordinary humans, but if any of you are aliens, time travelers or espers please come and see me".Most of the class, including Kyon brush this off and label her as a wierdo however by the process of plot and time Kyon somehow gets roped into helping Haruhi start up a club to find and track down these strange beings called The Spreading Excitement All Over The World With Haruhi Suzumiya Brigade AKA The S.O.S Brigade. All plans to go out and find these mysterious beings are ready to be put into practice, the only problem? The Brigade happens to be filled out with Kyon,an alien,a time traveler and an esper on top of that Haruhi has the powers of God...following me so far?

Sounds really stupid I know, but believe me they do a good job with making it funny. Now to talk about the characters,I'll skip Kyon since I've pretty much explained him already so I'll go right on ahead to the lady of the moment.Haruhi Suzumiya is,in a word, excentric. She is obsessed with finding aliens, time travelers and espers simply because she finds humans to be boring. She spends most of her time coming up with crazy plans to find them or being depressed that they didn't work. The only problem is that somehow she has the powers of God,able to create whatever reality she wants and when she feels a strong negative emotion giant blue Flubbers appear and destroy things inside a 'Closed Space',however she is unaware she had this power. The only way to prevent this from happening is to keep her calm and entertained. As a result,3 individuals arrive at the Brigade to ensure she stays that way, they are Koizumi,Mikuru and Nagato.Nagato is the first one we meet, she spends her time reading books and I mean every single seccond. She's quiet, has about as much presence in the room as a sack of potato's but over the series develops of a character, she's the alien by the way.Mikuru is the seccond member we meet, she is basicaly moe incarnet. She's cute, she's nervous, she wears a maid outfit, she has huge...importance.And don't say you never drooled when she was wearing that bunny girl outfit, come on.She has alot to hide however,in my opinion anyway. She's the time traveler. And lastly we have Koizumi, the gayest of the gays.I swear,he guy wants Kyon so badly it practicaly burns through the screen at you.He never shifts from his cheefull demeanor although he apparently seems to know the most about what Haruhi's powers are. There are more characters of course but they're only there for supporting roles.

The main thing you have to keep in mind while watching this is that it's a comedy, not meant to be taken seriously. If you go in expecting "ZOMG THIS R TEH MOST EPYC SHITE EVAR!!",you will be disapointed. If you go in expecting a laugh and maybe a peice of helpfull advice or two you'll be pleasently supprised. Now it's a given that some people will dislike this anime and I can understand why, sure you could argue that the characters are 1 dimentional but they're aren't meant to be super deep.

Final rating:4/5

Ah,but it doesn't end there does it? Oh no,so good was this anime that people had demanded a series 2 for years on end, myself included.Inbetween this and the fabled seccond season we had a few video games and even a spin off series called The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Chan which made fun of the context, and no I don't include that other spin off show. But little did we know that those spin off shows would be alot better than the season 2,coming up next.
